Speaking on Saturday in the meeting of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "The national media and digital media of the country should widely broadcast the ceremonies of Ghadr nights".

Dr Rouhani also said that according to statistics and reports, the observance of health guidelines by the people is still an average of 61 percent, adding, "This situation is very dangerous and means that if these conditions continue, we will get out of the fourth wave of the disease later".

The President said that the observance of health guidelines by the people should reach over 90% in order to be able to control the disease and cut the chain of infection.

Dr Rouhani said that one of the concerns of the National Task Force Against Coronavirus is coronavirus mutations and said, "Evidence shows that coronavirus does not remain stable and acquires new features".

The President noted, "The disease has caused a lot of damage to the people in terms of mortality and mental, psychological, social, cultural and economic conditions".

Dr Rouhani said, "Not following the health guidelines is to the detriment of the person himself, then to the family and then to the whole society, so everyone should pay more attention to health guidelines".

The president continued, "It is better to get vaccinated today than not to get vaccinated. Vaccines can improve the condition somewhat and be effective in saving lives and breaking the chain of the disease".

Dr Rouhani stressed that despite all the problems in terms of supply and transfer of currency, the government is determined to buy the vaccine needed by the country, and said, "It is true that the talks in Vienna have made good progress, but we are still under sanctions and the obstacles of the past are still before us".

"But despite all these problems, the government provides the required currency and its transfer is done, and today the vaccine shipments are arriving in the country," he said.

Referring to the completion of vaccination of medical staff and health defenders as the first group of vaccine recipients, the President said,
"Vaccination of the second group (elderly and those with underlying medical conditions) has also begun and we hope that the vaccination of this group will be completed in two months".

Dr Rouhani also clarified, "People should be sure that we will do our best to import foreign vaccines and support the production of domestic vaccines, and our goal is for people to benefit from the vaccine sooner".

The President said, "We hope that if the domestic vaccines are provided in the time announced previously, we will be able to see better conditions in business and educational issues in the second half of this year".

Dr Rouhani stated, "Vaccination does not mean that the person is immune, because it takes about one or two months for this person's body to reach the right condition. The vaccine can only be effective against one type of virus, and a person may be exposed to another mutated virus".
