Dr Hassan Rouhani on Monday in the first video conference in the new year, contacted the Tehran Emergency Centre, Imam Reza (AS) Hospital in Mashhad, Razi Hospital in Ahwaz and Shariati Hospital in Tehran and congratulated the arrival of the new year to them.

In these video calls, the President emphasised that the government is always grateful to the country's medical staff and is aware of the heavy responsibility that falls on this department, saying, "The country's health and medical sector is one of Iran's honours and is one of the areas that can compete regionally and globally".

Dr Rouhani stated that the country's medical department sacrificed their lives for the health of the people, especially in fighting coronavirus, and said, "I hope that during Nowruz, traveling will not aggravate the disease and double the work of the country's medical staff".

The President called the actions of the 11th and 12th governments in the field of health and treatment very prominent and incomparable with the previous governments and said, "The government's work in the field of public insurance, building hospitals, providing medical equipment and upgrading the health sector is not comparable with the previous ones".

Dr Rouhani emphasised, "The government has done its best for the healthcare sector and will continue to do so. Of course, we cannot thank the sacrifice of the medical staff enough, but we will serve these loved ones with all our might".
