Dr Rouhani in a meeting with Governor-Generals of Tehran, Qom and Alborz:

Governor-Generals should work harder on production, resolving business problems, increasing employment/ E-government project must be completed faster/ Housing construction plans government priorities

The President advised governor-generals and heads of executive agencies to work tirelessly to address problems and shortages in various sectors, particularly in terms of people's livelihoods and removing barriers to youth employment and production increase.

In a meeting with Governor-Generals of Tehran, Qom and Alborz on Monday, Dr Hassan Rouhani listened to their reports on the three provinces in different sectors, emphasising the need for governor-generals to interact with people more closely and work to accelerate the resolution of their problems.

He said, “Due to the sanctions, people are facing problems and it is the duty of the authorities and especially the governor-generals to be with the people and plan and work to solve their problems".

Stating that governor-generals must work harder to support production, resolve business problems and increase employment rates, the president said, “the government has tried to provide the basic goods needed by people".

Referring to the reports of each governor-general on the process of implementation of government projects in the provinces, Dr Rouhani emphasised, “E-government should be completed faster to help us solve people's problems faster”.

The president outlined urban construction and reconstruction as one of the main policies of the government and emphasised, “This project should be emphasised in the provinces and public lands should be used to advance the project”.

Speaking about large government investments over the past six years in the field of transport, Dr Rouhani said, “The development of transportation is particularly important for the government, including projects related to motorways around Tehran and neighbouring provinces”.

The President reaffirmed the importance of preserving the environment and paying attention to the tourism industry.

Dr Rouhani also advised governor-generals to have close interaction with the maraji to use their guidance.

Tehran Governor-General Anushirvan Mohseni Bandpei, Qom Governor-General Bahram Sarmast and Alborz Governor-General Azizollah Shahbazi also presented a report on the demands of the people and issues in different parts of their governed provinces and the process of implementing previous government plans in various projects.
