Tripartite Summit of Iran, Russia and Turkey kicks off in Ankara

The Fifth Tripartite Summit of Iran, Russia and Turkey aimed at finding a solution to the Syrian crisis as the continuation of the Astana Process began Monday evening in Ankara with President Hassan Rouhani, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan taking part.

Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation were welcomed by the Turkish President upon arrival at the summit hall.

After posing for a photo, Dr Rouhani, Mr Putin and Mr Erdoğan began negotiations as the heads of their accompanying high-ranking delegation.

Before the summit began, Dr Rouhani had bilateral meetings with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Vladimir Putin, and discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and international topics with them.
