President heads for Turkey

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran left Tehran for Ankara, Turkey, Sunday evening to attend the fifth Tripartite Summit of Iran, Russia and Turkey.

President Hassan Rouhani will attend the summit, which is aimed at resolving the Syrian crisis, and have bilateral meetings with the presidents of the Russian Federation and Turkey, discussing bilateral, regional and international issues.

The three parties will also discuss continuing and developing tripartite cooperation in different economic fields and regional relations.

At the official ceremony held at Mehrabad Airport, President Rouhani was seen off by the Advisor to Supreme Leader in International Affairs Dr Aliakbar Velayati and a number of ministers and vice-presidents.

Dr Rouhani is accompanied by a number of senior officials and a high-ranking political and economic delegation.
