President after receiving 1st VP’s report on flood-hit areas:

Final estimates of damage to flood-hit areas should be ready for cabinet’s Wednesday session/ All governor-generals, governors be fully alert

After receiving the latest report by First Vice-President Dr Jahangiri on the flood-stricken areas in northern parts of the country, President Hassan Rouhani issued the necessary instruction for managing the situation.

During the dialogue that was made right after Dr Jahangiri arrived in Tehran from northern cities of Golestan and Mazandaran, Dr Rouhani called on him to estimate the damage made by the floods and prepare the report until Wednesday to be discussed in cabinet session.

The President said, “It is necessary that the estimates of the flood damages be prepared as fast as possible through coordination with disaster management headquarters to and be presented to the cabinet session”.

Referring to the continuation of crisis caused by the floods in Golestan Province, Dr Rouhani reiterated that all organs must be mobilised to manage the situation and estimate the damages to the infrastructure, lands and people in the province.

Dr Rouhani also tasked all ministries, Plan and Budget Organisation, and related organs with forming a task force for more coordination and fully address the crisis, as well as estimate the damages to be prepared for cabinet’s Wednesday session.

The President went on to demand all governor-generals, governors, and authorities nationwide to be present and fully prepared until the end of Nowruz holidays to coordinate the related organs and manage the crisis caused by possible floods.
