To oversee relief process in quake-hit areas;

President arrives in Kermanshah province

President Rouhani arrived in Kermanshah province on Tuesday morning to visit earthquake-hit areas and supervise the relief process in western cities of the country and meet with the people and the victims.

Upon arrival at Kermanshah Airport, Dr Hassan Rouhani was welcomed by the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Health and Medical Education, the Governor General and a number of senior local officials.

The president is set to visit quake-ridden areas of Kermanshah province and meet with the people and victims of the earthquake.

A meeting of the Disaster Management Headquarters is also scheduled to take place in Kermanshah, presided by Dr Rouhani, with authorities of relevant organs attending.

President's Chief of Staff, ministers of Oil, and Roads and Urban Development, Head of Plan and Budget Organisation, Chairman of Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation and Vice-President in Parliamentary Affairs are accompanying Dr Rouhani.

In a message yesterday expressing sympathy to all the victims of earthquake in western provinces of the country, particularly in Kermanshah, the president stated that "the administration will stand by all victims with all its facilities and resources."

President also had a conversation with the Minister of Energy and received a report on the state of water and electricity supply in earthquake-hit areas, and gave the necessary orders to prioritise the urgent needs for these areas.

Dr Rouhani ordered all available facilities of the country, particularly those of the neighbouring provinces, to be mobilised to accelerate the relief process to those hit by the earthquake.

The President also gave a special task to the First Vice-President, received the latest field reports from the Minister of Interior and the Governor General of Kermanshah, and ordered a delegation of ministers of interior and health to go to the earthquake-hit areas to supervise the relief process, and report on the measures taken.
