Serious resolve by Iran, Ghana gov'ts based on further deepening of ties/Readiness to strengthen ties between private sectors

President Rouhani met with the Vice-President of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia, and said that after the lift of sanctions, there is a good atmosphere for development of Iran's relations with other countries around the world, including Ghana.

In the meeting that was held on Sunday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani said: "Without a doubt, in such an atmosphere, all potentials can be activated to make a great development in the level of relations between the two countries".

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Ghana have always had close, friendly relations and there is good potentials for deepening ties between the two countries, said Rouhani, adding: "We are ready to help establish close ties between private sectors of the two countries in the fields of economy, science and advanced technology".

President Rouhani also described better banking relations as a firm base for developing relations and cooperation, saying: "Facilitating banking relations between the two countries can be a firm base for boosting economic ties".

"The governments of Iran and Ghana are seriously determined to develop relations and this can be a solid base for cementing bilateral ties," he said.

In the same meeting, the Vice-President of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia also expressed happiness over visiting Tehran, adding: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has proved that it is a good, trustworthy friend for Ghana and therefore, the new government of Ghana is determined to deepen its ties with Iran".

"We believe that we can receive Iran's help as a country that has one of the oldest civilisations in the world and possesses advanced science and technologies," he added.

He also invited Dr Rouhani to make an official visit to Ghana.
