Speaking at the meeting of the Administrative Council of Semnan Province, while commemorating the student martyrs and emphasising the importance of the Day of Fighting Arrogance, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said, "November 4 is a symbol of fight against tyranny and arrogance and we must rely on ourselves and trust in God".
He continued, "Some seek their own benefits in serving the people, another one is humanistic service; and the third type is solving people's problems for God, which solves the problems of society and brings with it God's pleasure".
Stating that the opportunity to provide service to the people is provided for managers, Dr Raisi called them to accountability and responsibility towards the people and said, "Officials should be accountable to God, the client, the people and the top manager".
Emphasising that everyone should be held accountable for their actions or deeds, the President said, "The spirit of accountability is the same as responsibility, and we should hold ourselves accountable to the people, because being accountable to an administrative organisation eradicates unhealthy administrative relations".
"No bank has the right to close down a factory or workshop for its debts, because the closure of production units are against the macro policies of the country and the government," said Raisi.
Speaking about the problem of water shortage in Semnan province, Dr Raisi said, "In the centre of the province, with the presence of all relevant agencies, meetings should be held to solve this problem".
Referring to road accidents in Semnan province, Ayatollah Raisi said, "Even the death of one person on the roads is harmful and the high rate of road casualties is not acceptable".
Regarding the government's measures to solve the problems of the people of Semnan province, the President said, "The construction of a 24-hour health centre will begin in Mayamei, and the Housing Foundation will relocate the villages that have problems with landslides".
Dr Raisi described the capacities of Semnan province in the field of agriculture, mining and tourism well and said, "According to the law, one percent of the villagers' salaries should be paid by the mine operators".
"I see a very bright future, and despite all the threats, we believe that problems can be overcome with effort and empathy," the President said.
