Speaking on Thursday evening in the first meeting of the Supreme Council of Employment in the 13th government, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi said, "In the digital communication environment, it is not difficult to provide accurate information on the employment situation in the country, therefore, we must address people's concerns in the field of employment".
Stating that during the provincial trips most people refer to him and voice their concerns about jobs, Dr Raisi added, "Creating employment is one of the priority issues of the government and I seriously expect all ministers, especially the Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, to put creating employment on their agendas".
Dr Raisi emphasised, "One of the necessities in creating employment is that the private sector takes the lead and the government plays its supporting and supervisory role properly".
"We need a job creation movement, so the focus should be on creating productive jobs and boosting production," he said, noting that the problem of unemployment could not be solved with advice.
Referring to the tasks of the vision document and development plans of the country in the field of job creation, Ayatollah Raisi added, "According to the tasks of these documents, the problem of unemployment should have been solved by 1404, but we have serious delays in achieving this goal".
Emphasising the need to activate all existing capacities and infrastructures and improve productivity, the President said, "Although we do not want to merely write documents, but a comprehensive employment document must be prepared and the role and share of all sectors must be specified".
Emphasising the importance of cooperation between the government, parliament and the private sector to identify and eliminate problems and obstacles to facilitating job creation, Ayatollah Raisi said, "Digital economy and knowledge-based economy, maritime economy and activating village economy can greatly contribute to solving the problem of unemployment".
Dr Raisi added, "The complex situation of the inefficient administrative system and bureaucracy of the country has become one of the major obstacles to the progress of job creation, which must be corrected in order to facilitate job creation".
Referring to measures such as granting loans to create quick-paying jobs in previous governments, the President said, "Surveys show that these measures did not have a satisfactory result and generally the statistics provided on job creation did not correspond to reality, so these inefficient experiences should not be repeated".
Emphasising the importance of the promotional industries and basic jobs to facilitate the creation of sustainable employment, Ayatollah Raisi said, "Many social harms such as addiction and divorce will be eliminated by creating employment and boosting production".
