The character of Sheikh Safi al-Din, Safavid history must be properly introduced to the people

On Friday evening, the President attended the Maghrib and Isha prayers at the historic Ali Qapu Mosque in Ardabil.

After prayers, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi visited the tomb of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili and paid tribute to the high position of this great scholar and mystic of Islam.
The President also visited different sections of the museum and tomb of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili and stressed the importance of introducing and properly recognising the personality of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili as a great Islamic scholar.
Mr Raisi praised the valuable and prominent figure of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili and said, "This great Islamic scholar has played a prominent role in the unification of Islamic Iran and the spread of Shiite culture".
Stating that the character of Sheikh Safi al-Din should be properly introduced and recognised, Ayatollah Raisi said, "This famous mystic was the founder of a school that resulted in the flourishing of culture, politics and economy in Safavid Iran and the formation of a strong and cohesive Iran based on identity".
Mr Raisi also described the architecture of the tomb of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili as a glorious example of Iranian-Islamic art and said, "The Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism should introduce this valuable historical monument to the world and facilitate the presence of tourists in this historical place".
After visiting the tomb of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili, the President visited several handicraft shops in Ardabil and talked closely with artists and vendors. During this visit, some handicraft artists presented their proposals for introducing and selling works of art with the President.
