Speaking on Monday night in the second live televised interview, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi referred to the process of combating COVID-19 and public vaccination, stating, "Despite the progress made in the field of vaccination, full observance of health protocols should continue to be on people's agenda because ignoring this disease is dangerous and will lead to a new wave of the disease".
Emphasising that our policy on vaccination is convincing and not mandatory, Ayatollah Raisi said, "I invite all those who have not been vaccinated to receive the vaccine at the earliest opportunity".
In response to a question about the state of the country's macroeconomic indicators and the government's plans to curb inflation, the President said, "The second most important issue for the government is people's livelihood. I am aware of the pressure on the people and I feel myself at people's table".
Stating that it is the inflationary effects of previous decisions taken in the country that are seen in the market and economy today, Ayatollah Raisi said, "The year 1401 budget must be real and without deficit".

The President also went on to respond to a question on curbing inflation, saying, "We are constantly working to control inflation and reduce the pressure on our dear people".

"The situation we are witnessing today is related to the decisions that have been made before this government, and their inflationary effects have been revealed in the market and on people's livelihood today," said Raisi.

Dr Raisi also said, "The effects of the decisions we make today will certainly be reflected in people's lives in the future".

The President continued, "The Thirteenth Government believes that now that we have a responsibility, it is time to make some serious budget reforms, as the Supreme Leader has reiterated several times since a couple of years ago".

Regarding the currency market, the President said, "We will inform the people and the market about the decisions, but solving this issue is part of the government's plans and we will inform the dear people in due time, because the 13th government believes that people's participation and cooperation is the precondition to success".

Dr Raisi said, "Dear people should know that according to the promise we made, the administration of justice is the most central part of the government's work".

In response to a question about the government's work to fulfil the promise of housing construction, the President said, "We held a meeting of the Supreme Housing Council and preparations are being made by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Housing Foundation and governor-generals in this regard".

Dr Raisi pointed out that sometimes the media is sceptical about the fulfilment of this promise, and emphasised, "This should be done because, firstly, it is the need of the country and secondly, it is stated in the law and we consider ourselves obliged to implement the law. Thirdly, we consider this possible considering the potentials of the country".

Pointing out that it is not the case that some people think that the government will take the land and build and deliver it itself, the President clarified, "The government does the work of guiding, supervising and supporting, and all stakeholders must enter the field".

In response to a question about the real effects of provincial trips and how much its approvals are monitored, the President said, "We do the work at the national level 6 days a week, and one day we go to a province; After all, it is the right of the province and it is our duty to visit the provinces because we are not responsible only in Tehran".

Mr Raisi said, "Before the trip, delegations from the ministries will be sent to the province and will determine the urgent needs of the province".

In response to a question about the negotiation process and the plan to lift the oppressive sanctions against the Iranian nation, the President said, "We will seriously pursue the policy of the Economy of Resistance and do not tie people's livelihood and the market to these negotiations, but Iran has never left the negotiation table, and we are definitely serious about outcome-oriented negotiations".

Ayatollah Raisi said that the readiness of the other side to lift the sanctions could be a sign of seriousness in the negotiations, saying, "We have announced from the beginning that when the government takes office, the affairs will be pursued, and now that the government has taken office, affairs are being pursued through the foreign ministry".

"We adhere to what we have said," the President said, adding, "In the talks that took place a few days ago in Tehran with the representative of the European Union, they were told that the Islamic Republic of Iran is serious in this regard, but we must also see the seriousness in the other side as well".

In response to a question about Iran's permanent membership in the Shanghai Pact and the government's plan to use regional and international relations, Mr Raisi said, "By joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, we have in fact established relations with the economic infrastructure of Asia".

The President added, "Our country has very good grounds for increasing exports in the region, especially to neighbouring countries, and the amount of exports can certainly double".

Mr Raisi described Iran's current position in regional trade as unsatisfactory and said, "Strengthening relations with neighbouring countries and the region is a priority and I call on all economic bodies to be ready for a different move in trade and economic relations in the region".

In response to a question about the purpose of sending 35 new trade advisers to the Iranian embassies through the Foreign Ministry, the President said, "The purpose of this is to activate the country's economic diplomacy, and they express readiness to improve trade and economic relations with Iran in various meetings, which need to be pursued".

Mr Raisi said, "In the near future, we will have a meeting with Iranian ambassadors in the region, which will focus on trade and economic issues".

In response to a question about the appointment of Iran's Special Representative for Afghanistan and Iran's position on the events and developments in the country, the President said, "We have already announced that we support the formation of an all-inclusive government with all active groups in Afghanistan".

Ayatollah Raisi added, "The formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan is the main issue, but what has become an important issue today after the expulsion of the Americans from Afghanistan is the presence of ISIS as a group created by the Americans".

"The American-made group is destabilising Afghanistan, but our strategy in this country is to create unity and stability, and this issue should be made clear to the people of Afghanistan, which, thank God, has been made clear," the President said.

Mr Raisi said, "We call on the rulers of Afghanistan to stand up to the crimes committed by ISIS and the killing of the Muslim people".
