The President said that in the past 3.5 years, US sanctions and the economic war and the outbreak of the virus of Trump and coronavirus have created many problems and hardships for the people, adding, "People should know what the economic situation in our country would be like today if it were not for the economic war and coronavirus”.

Dr Hassan Rouhani emphasised on Wednesday in the cabinet meeting, "In a complete analytical report, all these cases have been calculated and it has been determined that if it were not for sanctions, economic war and coronavirus, the country's economic conditions would be much better than today”.

Dr Rouhani added, "According to this analysis, if it were not for the two viruses of Trump and COVID-19, today the economic growth without oil would be 4.1 percent and economic growth with oil 3.8 percent, today inflation would be 11.5 percent, the dollar price below 5,000 tomans, investment growth would be 4.7 percent and the country's GDP would be 22 percent higher than what we see today”.

The President said that the government has not given up any effort to solve the country's problems and confront the economic war and coronavirus, adding, "The 12th government has taken every opportunity to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and lift the sanctions”.

Dr Rouhani said that in its election campaign, the new US administration had repeatedly condemned Trump's withdrawal from the JCPOA and acknowledged the futility of sanctions against Iran, but Trump's crimes and economic terrorism against Iran still continue, adding, "If Biden procrastinates the implementation of the JCPOA in any way, it has betrayed the vote of the American people”.

"We have never sought weapons of mass destruction and Iran's nuclear activities are completely peaceful," he said, adding that allegations against Iran are completely baseless.

Dr Rouhani described Trump administration’s actions against the Iranian nation beyond the imposition of sanctions and even war, and a full-fledged terrorism, and added, "In which war have you seen the prevention of the supply of medicine to patients? Although the Iranian people endured many hardships, they resisted this relentless terrorism well, and today, if a number of issues are resolved, they can achieve their inalienable right”.

Dr Rouhani also stated, "One of the main axes of the government's efforts in the last days of its term of office is to try to regulate the supply of basic goods in such a way that in the first months of the next government, there will be no problems in this regard".

Referring to the recent talks on the rights of workers in the oil industry, the President said, "There is a problem in the budget that I am sure will be solved and the government will not allow the problem and restrictions on the rights of honourable workers”.

Dr Rouhani said, "The government will inaugurate important projects in the last month of its activity, including the largest hospital complex in the country with a capacity of 1,200 beds, which we have never had before, and this hospital will be opened and put into operation in the coming weeks".

In the first part of his speech, referring to the anniversary of the explosion on 28 June 1981, the President added, "This great catastrophe was a plan and conspiracy by the major Western countries”.

Dr Rouhani described the presence, intellectual power and influence of the words of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the resistance of the people as the main reasons for the failure of the conspiracies of the enemies of the Islamic Republic.

Expressing hope that the country's judiciary will always be the same one that Martyr Beheshti established, Dr Rouhani said, "What breaks the judiciary is the factional and political relations and affiliations”.

Dr Rouhani also referred to the anniversary of the chemical bombing of Sardasht by the Saddam regime, saying, "The world should have been shaken by the chemical bombing of a city, but unfortunately this did not happen and today all political, legal and international sectors of the Islamic Republic must pursue the rights of the victims of chemical attacks”.
