"Today, in light of courage and resistance of martyrs, war veterans and their families, all aspirations of martyrs are being realized and the hegemonic system is on the verge of annihilation," said President Ahmadinejad in an address to a group of families of martyrs in Yasouj, Kohgilouyeh-Boyer Ahmad province. The president said today, the path trodden by martyrs is known by all nations as the only path to salvation, dignity and glory. He said Iran is proud of 200,000 of its martyred citizens. "We are proud of living in a country where war veterans put up with pains and hardships, still hoisting the banner of dignity and freedom of nations," announced the president. Addressing the big powers, President Ahmadinejad said, "Iranian nation invites you to make recourse to the path of purity and justice of the divine prophets. This is good for all, especially for you." He then warned the West, "If you wish to use the language of force and threat with the Iranian nation, our nation will stand united and deal a heavy blow to the ill-wishers of the system." He noted that Iranian nation are men of law and logic and 'if you wish to talk with the Iranian nation fairly and justly, we too will be ready to cooperate with you'. He said that the world is fed up with the ongoing international conditions and await a ray of hope. He referred to the failure of the hegemonic powers in the Middle East, especially Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine and said, "Gone is the era when the big powers sat in their palaces and made decisions for other nations from afar." He said the domineering powers are in total deadlock in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Lebanon and need Iran's support to overcome their big problems.
