President at special meeting of East Azerbaijan disaster management headquarters:

We are responsible towards nature; if we don't care about Lake Urmia, we will face disasters/All Iranians are beside people of Azerbaijan/Gov't to step in to repair damages to farmers, households lost their caretakers

The people of Iran stand by each other when there is a disaster or incident, said President Rouhani at the special meeting of East Azerbaijan disaster management headquarters, "The government will step in to repair damages to households who have lost their caretakers, as well as farmers".

"On behalf of the Iranian nation, I say that all Iranians are beside the people of Azerbaijan," continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He continued: "The role of the people living in this area, especially from the time of Constitutional Revolution until the Islamic Revolution, has been pivotal"

The President continued: "Fortunately, with the Supreme Leader's Representative being here, good coordination between all political and military officials has been established in East Azerbaijan".

Disasters are tests for all of us and we have to be ready all the time, said Dr Rouhani adding: "This visit is aimed at expressing condolences to those hit by the latest floods in East Azerbaijan and its neighbouring provinces".

He continued: "The people of Iran stand by each other when there is a disaster or incident. We all have to feel responsible towards each other and promote goodness".

"Organs whose task is to predict disasters and their notice systems must be strengthened," President Rouhani added.

He went on to say: "The Housing Foundation, Red Crescent Society, and all aid workers and armed forces have acted well in crises".

"The government will step in to repair damages to households who have lost their caretakers, as well as farmers," he continued.
