In order to follow up on the latest conditions of people in flood-ravaged provinces;
President Rouhani arrives in Tabriz
President Rouhani entered Tabriz city, the centre of East Azerbaijan province in order to follow up on the latest conditions of people in the flood-ravaged province.
Upon arrival at Tabriz' Shahid Madani International Airport on Wednesday, Dr Rouhani was welcomed by the Friday Prayer's Imam and the Supreme Leader's Representative to the province, as well as the Governor General and a number of local officials.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, Dr Rouhani expressed his condolences to those hit by the disaster and assured that the government will do its utmost in addressing and countering the problems cause by the floods.
"From the very first moments, the Governor General and the energy minister were designated to follow up and supervise the measures taken and the government has taken good measures in helping the people of the province," he added.
Stating that there was a need to visit the province to address the issues caused by the floods, he said: "Yesterday, the needed funds were allocated from the treasury for Kurdistan, West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and Ardebil province".
He continued: "Meeting with the brave people of Azerbaijan, especially in the month of Rajab, is a great opportunity".
