President meets with Japanese Prime Minister:

President : Iran and Japan mutual political, economic and cultural relations should be further developed/ Abe: We are eager to be active in assisting Iran’s development

President Rouhani in a meeting on Sunday with Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe described Japan as good and strategic partner and said that the two countries’ mutual political, economic and cultural relations should be further enhanced.

Also describing the nuclear agreement (between Iran and G5+1) as an opportunity to further reinforce the mutual relations, he said: “Iran and Japan can cooperate in the field of transportation, environmental, cultural and scientific affairs and the modern knowledge and peaceful nuclear energy field, as well.

Dr. Rouhani also reiterated that the two countries scientific and technological centers should further expand their relations.

He referred to the expansion of terrorism in the region and said that the only way to root out terrorism is to strive hard for the regional people’s welfare in order to cease it not to easily expand its activities with the help of the existing poverty.    

Japanese PM also in the meeting indicated on concentration of the efforts on the concrete implementation and execution of the nuclear agreement and expressed his countries interest to cooperate with both sides of the agreement in this regard.  

Shinzo Abe said: We are eager to be active for assisting Iran’s development, therefore we are ready to start mutual cooperation in the field of science, culture, environmental, medical, nuclear and technological security, and meanwhile support Japan’s private sector’s interaction with their Iranian counterparts and the implementation of their trade agreements.  

Japanese Prime Minister also condoled President Rouhani over the sad demise and injury of a large number of Iranian pilgrims in Mina.
