
Ahmadinejad officially welcomes Tajik counterpart
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Tuesday officially welcomed his Tajik counterpart Imomali Rakhmonov.
Rakhmonov arrived in Tehran Monday evening on a three-day visit at the head of a high-ranking delegation to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.
He was welcomed at Tehran Mehrabad International Airport by Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad-Mehdi Zahedi.
During the official ceremony held at the Presidential Office, national anthems of the two countries were played and the two presidents reviewed a guard of honor.
Ahmadinejad and Rakhmonov are to hold a private meeting. The Iranian and Tajik delegation will then start their official talks.
During his stay, the Tajik president is scheduled to meet with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, President Ahmadinejad, Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel and Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
He is also to pay tribute to the Father of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini and visit Iran Khodro auto manufacturing company.
