In a meeting with a senior official of World Health Organization (WHO), Hassan Abdul-Razzaq Jazaeri, in Tehran on Tuesday, President Ahmadinejad said that the Zionists and Western capitalists have changed all the human and cultural concepts in the world such that today the issue of medical treatment is considered as a fully commercial activity, worldwide.



He underlined that the topic of health is one of the main human topics of importance, while adding that in the health sector priority is given to prevention; and promotion of this sector calls for education, investment, and establishment of appropriate infrastructures.



President further pointed out that today there are those in the world who are against investment for prevention of ailments due to their commercial outlook toward the health sector. He underscored that medical treatment and medicine are humane activities and the practice of medicine is considered as a sacred service in the Islamic culture.



President noted that Islamic Republic of Iran has gained significant experiences in the health sector and is swiftly progressing and advancing in this domain. He reiterated that Tehran is prepared to render these experiences to WHO for the benefit of other countries.



The WHO official also praised the importance that Islamic Republic of Iran attaches to the issue of health and medical education. He also reminded that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s supervisory system for prevention of illnesses is very strong and despite the illegal sanctions imposed against Iran, it has managed to gain significant achievements in the health sector.
