President Ahmadinejad made the remarks prior to leaving Tehran to Baku to attend the summit on Caspian Sea littoral states.

He said Caspian Sea is regarded as one of the most important seas in the world and this lays more responsibility on the shoulders of the Caspian Sea littoral states to make use of its resources.

Referring to the second summit of the Caspian Sea Littoral states, which was held in Tehran, he said the participants had fruitful talks to this effect resulting in a 25-article declaration, said President Ahmadinejad.

Talks on security of shipping and environment would be continued in these summits, he said.

Relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are highly deeply-rooted and sincere, he said.

Iran and Azerbaijan have experienced very good political and economic relations and cooperation and are determined to continue the path, he said.

Heads of Caspian Sea littoral states in their third meeting in Baku try to draw out a suitable legal regime for the Caspian Sea in order to make proper use of natural resources for these five littoral states.

Topics on the agenda of the meeting would be navigation of shipping lines, environment, military cooperation, customs formalities as well as flights over the Caspian Sea.
