President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad held talks here on Thursday evening with his Tajik counterpart Imomali Rakhmon on the international, global and bilateral related issues.

The talks were held on the sidelines of the 2010 United Nations (UN) General Assembly session in New York during which the two sides called for reforms in the international structure as well as expansion of strategic cooperation among the regional states.
Stressing promotion of bilateral relations between Tehran and Dushanbe, the Iranian President elaborated on the latest global and regional developments.
President Ahmadinejad said: "The unity among the regional countries would bring about peace and tranquility to the nations.
For his part, President Rakhmon called for further expansion of bilateral cooperation as well as accelerating implementation of bilateral agreements.
He further said unity among regional states, saying it can be an means to ward off enemy aggression.
