Speaking on Sunday morning in the one hundred and eighty-first meeting of the Cabinet's Economic Coordination Board, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "The main purpose of the year 1400 budget will be reducing the government's governance, reducing dependence of the budget on oil, and increasing incomes based on surge in production and the implementation of the general policies of the Economy of Resistance".

The President added, "The budget bill for the year 1400 will be drafted within the framework of the general program for reforming the budget structure, general policies of the Economy of Resistance, and with the approaches of "long-term growth by focusing on non-oil exports", "acceleration in the completion of production asset acquisition plans", "Facilitation of business environment", "Attention to people's livelihoods with priority on basic goods" and "Development of public-private partnership model".

Dr Rouhani stated, "The budget of different organs should create new opportunities and new sources of non-oil dependent income for the country, without disturbing the balance of prices of goods and services in the same sector or other sectors and agencies".

The President stated, "Strengthening and supporting domestic production and manufacturing and focusing on export development policy, especially non-oil exports, with special emphasis on neighbouring countries and Eurasia and establishing long-term trade relations and reducing tariffs in bilateral or multilateral international agreements are the main tools to counter the sanctions".
