Responsible departments should prioritise removal of administrative barriers in trade, economic relations with neighbours/ Customs should calculate value of export products of petrochemical companies based on the corresponding export base value

After being briefed by the relevant departments on the status of economic and trade exchanges and relations with neighbours, Dr Rouhani referred to the strategic importance of relations with neighbouring countries, saying, "By forming a work group and a committee consisting of agencies related to trade relations with neighbours as soon as possible, work in a coherent and integrated manner to solve problems in this area to raise the level of trade to the desired level".

Speaking on Sunday in the one hundred and seventy-second meeting of the Cabinet's Economic Coordination Board, Dr Hassan Rouhani stressed that the responsible agencies are obliged to prioritise the removal of administrative barriers in trade and economic relations with neighbours and fix any inconsistencies in administrative procedures".

The President stated that under the toughest sanctions imposed on the country, efforts have been made to upgrade non-oil export capacities, adding, "The Customs is obliged to calculate the value of petrochemical companies' export products based on the corresponding export base value declared weekly by the National Petrochemical Industrial Company".

In this regard, in order to create a unified management in order to integrate the affairs of the country's border terminals, the management of these terminals, such as air and sea terminals, was entrusted to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Emphasising on addressing the needs and technical and administrative shortcomings in this field, Dr Rouhani added, "The Ministry of Economy is obliged to expedite meeting the needs and provide customs equipment at the border customs to enable the clearance of goods as soon as possible".
