Meeting people's pharmaceutical needs a top priority/ Instructing CBI to allocate required foreign currency for supplying medicine raw material

Referring to the difficult economic situation in the country due to the oppressive US sanctions and the outbreak of coronavirus, the President said, "In a situation where the enemies have boycotted even the medicine needed by the people by imposing their oppressive and illegal sanctions, providing the pharmaceutical needs has a high priority".

Speaking with the Governor of the Central Bank on Friday, Dr Hassan Rouhani received a report on the latest measures taken to supply the raw materials for the medicine needed by the country, and emphasised on allocating the required foreign currency in this regard.

Abdolnaser Hemmati, the Governor of the Central Bank, also presented a report on the process of providing foreign exchange needed by pharmaceutical factories and said, "Over the past few days, more than $420 million has been provided for the purchase of medicine and raw materials at the rate of 4,200 tomans".

According to the Governor of the Central Bank, since the beginning of this year, more than $900 million with an exchange rate of 4,200 Tomans have been provided for the import of medicine and medical equipment.
