As in Muharram, we must observe health protocols in Safar month mourning ceremonies/ Flow of education in country should be accompanied by strict implementation of health protocols in educational environments

Speaking in the meeting of the Chairmen of the Committees of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, the President called the mourning ceremony of Imam Hussein (AS) memorable with strict observance of the health protocols and emphasised that all these instructions will be observed by the end of the mourning ceremony of Safar.

Dr Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday, "Ensuring the health of mourners depends on strict observance of health instructions and the implementation of these instructions should be taken seriously by the people and the organisers of mourning ceremonies".

The President emphasised, "According to the opinion and decision of the Iraqi officials, which was emphasised today in the last telephone conversation between the Iraqi Minister of Health and our Minister of Health, it is not possible to hold processions this year, and they have asked the Iraqi people to refrain from any procession. Therefore, we have to hold this year's ceremony symbolically and with new initiatives by the IRIB and the administrators of online media".

Dr Rouhani also expressed hope that the process of donation in the form of faithful donations by the believers in Safar month will continue.

Referring to the concerns expressed by some experts about the simultaneous spread of influenza and coronavirus in the autumn, the President instructed the chairmen of the treatment, advertisement, security and social committees to carry out special planning to ensure vaccination and implementing effective educational and promotional programmes to fight the flu.

Dr Rouhani added, "Undoubtedly, health care by the general public on the one hand and the use of influenza vaccine for specific and vulnerable groups, can be very effective in the management of this disease".

The President further pointed out the importance of continuing the process of educating students in the country and stated, "The first principle about the presence of students in educational environments is that educational centres remain open and education keeps going".

The President added, "The second principle that should be considered is the issue of upbringing and education that should be addressed along with education, but the continuation of the education process in the country should be accompanied by the strict implementation of health instructions in educational settings".

Dr Rouhani emphasised, "Wherever it is necessary for the health of students and education in the form of cyberspace, we will act and it is necessary that education and advertisement committees to carry out health instructions in educational environments, work and wider measures".

The President emphasised the provision of foreign currency for medicines and vaccines and the deficit of Rial resources in the Ministry of Health and the payment of the demands of the healthcare staff, and instructed the Plan and Budget Organisation and the Central Bank to solve the problem as soon as possible.
