Speaking on Monday at the inauguration ceremony of national projects of the Ministry of Petroleum, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "Oil production from joint oil resources has increased from 70,000 barrels to 400,000 barrels, and if this evil person had not taken office in the United States, today our production from these fields would have reached to more than one million barrels”.

He said that the gas industry with the production of clean energy is an infrastructural industry and a factor in the development of the country, adding, "We have reached nearly 1 billion cubic meters in gas production form 600 million cubic meters a day”.

The President described the gas supply network in Iran unique in the world and stated, "Currently, 17,000 villages in the term of office of the Government of Prudence and Hope are connected to the national gas network and the fuel of 89 power plants in the country is supplied with gas”.

Pointing out that the government has taken great steps in the field of oil and gas, Dr Rouhani said, "With the efforts of the 11th and 12th governments, it has left valuable heritage for the Iranian nation and the future government, and future governments can benefit from its blessings".

Felicitating Government’s Week and the memory of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, especially Martyr Rajai and Martyr Bahonar, the President said, "These honourable martyrs sacrificed their lives for the revolution and the people, and sincerely before and after the victory of the Islamic Revolution for the survival of the revolution”.

He added, "I hope that during the Government’s Week, officials across the country will be able to provide people with information about some of the services of the government”.

Emphasising the importance of the gas industry in the country, Dr Rouhani said, "Gas is a huge industry that produces clean energy and will develop the country, and that it is an infrastructural industry that spins a larger industry such as petrochemicals and connects Iran to neighbours”.

“Today, to the west of the country, we export gas to Turkey and Iraq, and we are able to export it to eastern neighbours as well, and in this regard, the gas pipeline has been extended to the border with Pakistan,” he continued.

The President added, "With the efforts of the 11th and 12th governments, we have been able to become self-sufficient in the gas sector and we have reached from 600 million cubic meters to about 1000 million cubic meters”.

Stating that yesterday the Supreme Leader pointed out that the heritage of this government should be left for the future government, Dr Rouhani said, "The government leaves great heritage in the gas sector for the future government and all phases of South Pars have been opened except one and also have become self-sufficient in petrol and diesel”.

"The next government will start when the petrochemicals have risen from 56 million tonnes to 100 million tonnes and from $11 billion to $25 billion," the president said.

Referring to the investment of €4.7 billion projects that were inaugurated today in the oil sector, Dr Rouhani said, "This volume of investment is a great work that has been achieved with the efforts of those involved when we are under sanctions".

The President said, "Today, we can tell people that great work has been done in this government, both in oil and gas and in the joint fields".

Referring to the government's plan to create a third leap in the oil and gas field, Dr Rouhani said, "The government will make the second leap in the petrochemical field by the end of this period, and we have planned a third leap with an export value of $37 billion”.

Referring to the Supreme Leader's emphasis on preventing the sale of raw materials, the President said, "In the field of oil and gas, with the construction of petrochemical complexes, good measures have been taken in this regard and I believe that this transformation should be done in all underground mines”.

In a ceremony that was held on Government’s Week, the President inaugurated three major national projects worth about €4.7 billion in the oil sector.

On Monday, Dr Hassan Rouhani inaugurated the plan for the development and improvement of gas dispatching centre and sixth and ninth national gas transmission lines, the first phase of Bushehr Petrochemicals and the 500 MW West Karun Combined Cycle Power Plant and its transmission lines and substation in a video conference.

The sixth national gas transmission pipeline has a daily transmission capacity of 110 million cubic metres of gas from South Pars to the western provinces of the country.

Relying on the capability of local experts, this project has been successful and its length is about 1200 km, which transports South Pars gas through Bushehr, Khuzestan, Lorestan, Ilam and Kermanshah provinces to Dehgolan city in Kurdistan province.

The 125-km pipeline is the ninth national gas transmission with a capacity of 60 million cubic metres, which starts from 32 km west of Behbahan and extends to the border of Bazargan and northern Maku.

The construction of these pipelines, in addition to being stable in supplying gas to the cold provinces of the country, also has an export advantage and plays an important role in energy exchanges with countries in the region.
