Explaining these three steps, Dr Hassan Rouhani said at the meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on Saturday that the exact announcement of the disease and the mobilisation of the whole country to fight the disease, overcoming the dangerous situation and controlling its spread by proposing social distancing and smart social distancing schemes, and the gradual reopening of businesses, were three stages that we have passed through, almost in all areas.

Emphasising that coronavirus is a new pandemic , and that health protocols must continue to be followed until a reassuring point is reached, the President said, "We hope to gradually and rapidly bring the whole country to the fourth stage of controlling coronavirus".

Dr Rouhani emphasised that "some are trying to spread fear and we must not accept this", adding, "Care and health precautions must be fully observed, but some want to make the psychological atmosphere of society insecure or to suggest that the situation is irreversible, which is not true".

Explaining the outcomes of the meeting, the President also said that the courtyards of the shrines will be opened with full observance of health protocols after Eid al-Fitr, and regarding the reopening of all mosques and the end of restrictions on the operation of shopping malls, reviews will be completed this week and a decision will be made at tomorrow's meeting".

Dr Rouhani stated, "From next week, that is, from the May 30, all government employees will be present at their workplaces from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, of course by observing all health protocols".

Dr Rouhani mentioned the reopening of museums and historical sites from tomorrow with observing health protocols as another resolution of the meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus.

Referring to the details of the latest report of the Ministry of Health on the process of combatting coronavirus, the President said, "Based on this report, the death rate is declining, the hospitalisation period has gradually decreased and the Ministry of Health is working to detect new cases. But the alarming point is that the deaths include people with underlying conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes".

Dr Rouhani added, "88% of the people who died in this country due to coronavirus were those who had one or more underlying diseases".

At the beginning of his speech, the President congratulated the anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr and said, "May 23 is an important day in national history and the Sacred Defence era, and on this day a great conspiracy of the Global Arrogance against the Iranian nation was ended".
