President while opening Tehran-North Freeway:

Phase 1 of Tehran-North Freeway manifestation of Iranian engineers’ power

The 32-kilometer-long Phase 1 of Tehran-North Freeway, with a value of 10 trillion tomans, was officially put into operation in a ceremony at President's order.

Dr Hassan Rouhani appeared at the construction site of Tehran-North Freeway on Tuesday morning, issuing the official operation of the project.

While ordering the start of operation of the project, President said, "We unveil Phase 1 of Tehran-North Freeway, which is the manifestation of Iranian engineers’ engineering power”.

The President was also briefed by the engineers of the project on the construction process and the advantages of using it.

According to project managers, the freeway enjoys the highest standards of safety and security in the West Asian region; the freeway enjoys high standard long tunnels, advanced fanjets, access tunnels, special bridges and concrete cladding.

With this phase of the freeway starting operation, the current Tehran-Karaj-Chalus route will become approximately 60 km shorter.
