President referred to the beginning of operation and construction of 41 projects in Kerman Province and stressed that the unveiling of mining, industrial and steel projects in Sirjan and Baft will contribute to the province’s more development.

Speaking on Tuesday in a press conference at the end of his visit to Kerman Province, President Hassan Rouhani said, “The Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade has made good decisions for setting up these units with the help of banks”.

“All sectors must be encouraged to develop tourism in Kerman Province,” added the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He also went on to say, “The government has attempted to finalise unfinished projects instead of beginning a new one”.

Stating that the most important step in the visit to the province was to solve the problem of drinking water for the next 30 years, adding, "With the government’s work in this regard, we can see a bright future for Kerman”.

Dr Rouhani continued, “With the help of the private sector, banks and the Development Fund, the required credit have been set aside to complete petrochemical projects”.

The President also pointed out the importance of delegating power to local governments, adding, "The Supreme Leader said that some provinces should be given special powers; I raised the issue in the government and we decided to pilot it first in some provinces”.

Dr Rouhani added, "We need to shorten the time taken for projects and the time required to obtain permits, which will shorten through giving the authorities to provinces themselves".

On the government's plans for employment, the President said, "There is a lot of potential in the tourism sector in Kerman and all sectors need to be encouraged to develop the tourism industry in the province".

Dr Rouhani emphasised the importance of knowledge enterprises for the employment of educated young people, adding, "In Yazd province, an old factory was designated to become an innovation factory, with the necessary funds provided by the Vice-Presidency for Science, the Innovation Fund and the private sector, and it is set to open next year”.

“According to the promise we gave the people of Rafsanjan, a science and technology park will be established in the city to contribute to employment,” he said.
