"The Iranian government is currently engaged in a heavy struggle with enemies and their followers not only on political and cultural fields but in economic front," Ahmadinejad said in the southwestern city of Yasouj in Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad province.
The president and his cabinet ministers, arrived in the province on Wednesday on his fourth provincial tour in the current Iranian year (started on March 21).
Addressing a group of the provincial ulema, theology students and clergymen, the president said, "Enemies and some of their agents inside the country made their utmost efforts since two years ago focusing particularly on economic issues as they thought they could topple the Iranian government, revolution and nation."
"This is a wishful thinking they have in mind. With the help of God, the Islamic Revolution will thwart all conspiracies as the waves of the Islamic Revolution are more stronger to be stopped by certain games," President Ahmadinejad stressed.
He added that the Iranian government would make all-out efforts to minimize the damage likely to be inflicted by enemies.
