Speaking at the meeting of Iranian and Swiss businesspeople on Tuesday in Bern, President Hassan Rouhani said: "Switzerland is the most accurate country in the world in setting seconds and today, the time of cooperation is beneficial to both nations".

Iran hasn't taken any steps against any country, said Rouhani adding: "Some are seeking to spread their illegal actions to other parts of the world; our responsibility is to cooperate within the framework of international laws, peace and interests of nations".

He added: "Holding of this meeting in such an important point in time has a great message and means that Iran and Switzerland are determined to continue their friendly economic and business ties with each other within the framework of international laws".

"Through holding this meeting, we want to send a message that Iran and Switzerland will continue their cooperation to serve bilateral interests, and this meeting means that in today's world, unilateralism in political, security, economic, scientific, environmental and other fields is not an option," continued the President.

He also stated that Iran's policy has always been having constructive relations with the world, saying: "During the nuclear negotiations and after the deal was struck, we proved well that we will stay committed to our obligations".

"We announce this to the world that Iran is committed to international rules and NPT and will continue to do so, and will continue its cooperation with international organisations including IAEA," continued Dr Rouhani.

He also said: "We announce this to the world that Iran wants fair, legal, peaceful and stable relations with the world and will play its role well in this regard".

Referring to Iran-Switzerland relations since the past decades as the proof that the two governments and great nations have trust in each other, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran said: "Iran trusts Switzerland in bilateral relations, and whenever an issue or disagreement happened between Iran and another country, Switzerland has always been one of the best choices for securing our interests and this trust is still in place".

"Geopolitically speaking, Iran is a remarkable country in the world and possesses the biggest gas resources of the world and has one of the biggest oil resources. With regard to its position, Iran can link Central Asia, Caucasus and Eastern Europe to Oman Sea, Indian Ocean and Asia," added the President.

"Iran is able to link Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and Indian Ocean," continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Stressing that Iran possesses the most educated people in engineering fields, he added: "Throughout the history, Iran has contributed a lot to science and knowledge of the world".

Dr Rouhani also went on to say: "Today, Iran has 4 million university students and over 13 million students studying in schools and also has inexpensive energy resources, educated young work force, well-known universities and special geographical position".

The President added: "With these features that Iran possesses and Switzerland as a country that possesses science, knowledge and civilisation and abides by the law, favouring peace and stability in the region and the world, and special features in pharmaceuticals and advanced medical equipment and technologies, today is the time of trust and cooperation between the two countries".

The president said: "What is important for Iran and Switzerland is the interests of the two nations and the international community and Iran is determined to develop its cooperation with other friend countries, including Switzerland".

At the same meeting, President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset said: "Switzerland continues its cooperation and interaction with Iran".

"Switzerland considers the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a great diplomacy victory and urges all parties to continue implementing it," added Berset.

President of the Swiss Confederation also said: "In today's talks, the heads of state and authorities are going to sign agreements on scientific and research cooperation, as well as healthcare and road transport between the two countries, which will be very important for Switzerland and Iran".
