Iranian, Kazakh Presidents stress cementing inclusive Tehran-Astana ties

Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Kazakhstan met on the margins of the OIC summit in Astana and stressed the serious resolve of the two countries to deepen Tehran-Astana ties in all fields of mutual interest, particularly economy, transit, energy and oil market.

In the meeting that was held on Sunday in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Dr Rouhani congratulated President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan over successful holding of the OIC summit and said: "Astana has so far been famous as the city of peace and friendship and science and technology will be added to the descriptions of the city".

 

Describing Kazakhstan a very important country in the region and the OIC, he said: "Tehran-Astana ties have always been growing in the past 25 years and we welcome deepening ties. The two countries have had good, constructive cooperation in fields of mutual interest and international issues".

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said: "Your re-election indicates people's trust in you and assurance for us in development of cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries".

He added: "Kazakhstan has always been by Iran and will continue to do so. We are ready and willing to deepen ties more than any time".
