Speaking on Monday evening in the 27th week of the inauguration of national plans and projects across the country, Dr Hassan Rouhani said, "The efforts of the government and its service will continue until the last day and hour of its activity, like the first day".

He continued, "The inauguration of national rural and nomadic projects today at a cost of more than 13 trillion tomans represents a limited part of the government's efforts to develop the country's villages".

Emphasising that the government of Prudence and Hope has carried out the country's development programs with all its might and with pride in the conditions of economic war, Dr Rouhani said, "We argue with all those who speak against Iran and we ask them to speak with statistics to see how we and other countries are doing in electricity and water".

Referring to the importance of production and food security in the country, Dr Rouhani said, "Today in the conditions of economic war, food security is very important by increasing production and self-sufficiency in meeting the needs of the country, and villagers and nomads have an important role in this regard".

The President said that the main burden in the production of agricultural products and self-sufficiency in this area is borne by the villagers.

The President stated that despite all the problems caused by the economic war of the enemies, the government has provided valuable services to the villagers and nomads throughout the country to the best of its ability in various sectors.

He described gas supply to the cities and villages of the country as a significant step in this government and added, "Today, in addition to being self-sufficient in gas and exporting gas to neighbouring countries even in winter, most of the country's villages are covered by the gas network".

Dr Rouhani added, "Before this government, gas was supplied to 14,000 villages, and in this government, 32,000 villages have benefited from gas, and this is a great honour for the government".

The President also referred to the measures taken in the field of health and treatment by implementing the Healthcare Transformation Plan and improving the health status of the villages by building rural health centres and added, "Today, combatting COVID-19 in the country is done with self-sufficiency".

Dr Rouhani also referred to the development of communications and the national information network in the villages and added, "With the great work done in this area, all the villages of the country are gradually connected to the intelligent communication network and the great effect of these services is that we see our villagers have more health, more educational facilities, and wider and safer means of communication".

"If villages are evacuated and living in the suburbs of cities increases, there will be thousands of social and economic problems," he said, adding, "It is important that the villages grow in such a way that our dear villagers do not need to go to the city".

Dr Rouhani mentioned the development of rural employment as another important measure of the government regarding villages and nomads and added, "A villager needs a job and income to continue his life, and this government has spent $1 billion of capital provided by the National Development Fund with the consent of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution to do valuable work in the field of rural employment".

In another part of his speech, the President thanked all people across the country, especially the villagers, and added, "During the Holy Defence era and the military war of the enemies against Iran, all the people went to the fronts and fought on the front line. Today, in the economic war, our people have stood firm and the villagers play a key role in this resistance by their efforts for production".

Referring to the country's self-sufficiency in wheat production, Dr Rouhani said, "Today, with the efforts of villagers, farmers and producers, the production of agricultural products and food continues with strength".

"We know that the people today are in a difficult situation with the sanctions and the economic war of the enemies," he said, adding, "The important thing is that our nation defeated the enemy with its own resistance and proved that we will not give up".

Dr Rouhani emphasised, "I have no doubt that this economic war of the enemy cannot continue for a long time and the enemies will surrender to the resistance of the Iranian nation and we will force the enemy to surrender".
